Dick Performs for the AZ Chapter of MOAA

On Saturday, October 20th, Dick performed for the Arizona Chapter of MOAA at their annual picnic. Here he is telling one of his fighter pilot stories.

We have had a busy Summer of travels with our friend Bridget Bradshaw. She is also getting into writing lyrics which pleases Dick immensely. Her first effort is up on YouTube and getting lots of hits. Thought the link for it would be good to have here as well.

We are here and enjoying all the activities that our hosts have scheduled for us. As I write this it is Friday, 13 July in Misawa. Dick's show for the squadrons is open to the entire base and starts a 1800 this evening.

Tuesday Smack took us to the range -- Dick's request -- and we got to watch both US and Japanese pilots practice their skills.

Yesterday, Thursday 12 July, Dick did a video interview with AFN. Watch for it on YouTube. They also let him sing songs and tell stories on the AM Radio station here.

Both squadrons of the 35th FW have gone out of their way to make certain our visit has been great. They even pressed their wives into service to take us shopping at a local mall.

Heading for Misawa AFB Japan. Dick has been invited by the 35th Fighter Wing to do a show for the Panther Pack and the Fighting Samurai on 13 July. He has been working with the squadrons since early this year and our schedules finally came together so that he could perform for both squadrons.

Thanks to Capt. Balzhiser "Smack" for taking the helm as POC to make the event run smoothly.

It also looks like Dick will be interviewed by the AFN while at Misawa. He was interviewed by AFN in 1968. The  differences should be interesting.
